President Donald Trump will host a mother who saved her daughter from gender ideology as his guest at his Joint Address to Congress, The Daily Wire has learned.
The president will speak to lawmakers Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. ET. His speech, on the “Renewal of the American Dream,” will expand on the White House’s accomplishments thus far, Trump’s plans for global peace, his push for Congress to fund border security, and his recent efforts to bolster the economy.
Trump will host a number of guests at the Joint Address. One of these, The Daily Wire can first report, is January Littlejohn, a mother who rescued her daughter from gender ideology after school officials sought to help her young daughter socially transition.
“It was a huge surprise,” Littlejohn told The Daily Wire in a Monday phone interview. “I’m very honored and humbled, and feel the weight of all the families I’m going to be representing.”
Littlejohn’s daughter was “captured” by gender ideology at the age of 13, spurred on by her friend group of young middle schoolers fixated on gender identity. Littlejohn says school staff stepped in and “not only exploited her normal pubescent discomfort,” but also affirmed her daughter’s “self-hate for her body that she was experiencing at the time.” They began “socially transitioning” her daughter without Littlejohn’s knowledge or consent, asking the girl what pronouns they should use for her, whether she would like to sleep with girls or boys on overnight trips, and which bathroom she preferred to use.
“These social transitions, this is not a neutral or benign intervention,” said Littlejohn, who is now an activist with the organization “Do No Harm.” “This places these children on a path to medical transition. It’s the first step toward medical transition, and my daughter was completely convinced at that time that a medical pathway was the only way to alleviate her distress.”

But one day after school, Littlejohn’s daughter shared all of the things that her teachers were saying. Littlejohn tried to reach out to the school and learn what they had been telling her daughter, but she says she was told that her daughter was protected by a nondiscrimination law, and that she was the only one who could determine what her mother could know about her gender identity.
Littlejohn and her husband ultimately removed their daughter from the school, limited her internet usage, and focused on helping her build a happy and healthy existence. Though her daughter is thriving now as a high school senior, both Littlejohn and her daughter regret the years she lost to anxiety, anger, depression, and sadness brought on by the school officials’ gender ideology.
“Parents have got to understand that gender identity ideology has infected every aspect of our culture, including our judicial system,” Littlejohn said Monday. “It’s really going to take time to root out gender ideology out of these institutions. In the meantime, parents have got to protect their children by knowing what’s being taught in their schools. If they are not respected as the authoritative decision maker for their child, then they have to remove their child from that school, from that doctor’s office, from that institution or any institution that does not recognize them as the ultimate decision maker for their child.”
According to Littlejohn, changing the culture is not enough: parents also have to inoculate their children against gender ideology.
“While we are changing the culture and getting the truth out about these interventions and where this ideology leads these children, we’ve got to be fully inoculating kids against the ideology itself, and what that looks like is teaching them the truth from a very young age in an age appropriate way that there are two sexes, male and female, and regardless of what someone does to their physical self, that can never change,” she explained.
