RFK Jr. Dropping Out Of Race, Will Address Nation While In Same City As Trump: Report

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is reportedly set to drop out of the presidential race this week and will address the nation while speaking in the same city as Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

ABC News reported that Kennedy will drop out by the end of the week and is leaning toward endorsing Trump, but no decision has been finalized.

Kennedy’s campaign said that he will make a live address on Friday in Phoenix, which comes as Trump will be holding a rally in Glendale, Arizona, which is a suburb of Phoenix.

Trump said this week that he was open to Kennedy joining his administration if Kennedy were to drop out and endorse him, which could put Trump over the edge this fall against Democrat presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris.

“He’s a brilliant guy. He’s a very smart guy. I’ve known him for a very long time,” Trump said. “I didn’t know he was thinking about getting out, but if he is thinking about getting out, certainly I’d be open to it.”

Trump said that he would “love” an endorsement from Kennedy because he’s “always liked” him.

He indicated that he “probably would” appoint Kennedy to a role in the administration if Kennedy were to drop out and endorse him.

“I like him a lot. I respect him a lot,” Trump said. “I probably would, if something like that would happen. He’s a very different kind of a guy — a very smart guy. And, yeah, I would be honored by that endorsement, certainly.”
