Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed Islamic terrorist group based in southern Lebanon, has fired well over 300 rockets into northern Israel over the last couple of days.
The dramatic escalation came after Israel took out one of the terrorist group’s top leaders earlier this week, senior commander Talib Abdullah, aka Hajj Abu Talib.
Hezbollah, which is one of the largest terror groups in the world and is the most heavily-armed, fired approximately 215 rockets into Israel on Wednesday and several more missiles and drones, The Times of Israel reported. The attacks continued into Thursday when it fired another 150 rockets and 30 drones into Israel.
The attacks, which forced hundreds of thousands of Israelis to spend the day in bomb shelters, have caused countless fires in northern Israel that led to poor air quality conditions.
Hezbollah has approximately 150,000 rockets in its arsenal, a number far greater than Hamas had when it threw the region into war with its October 7 attack. The rockets that Hamas has are also much more advanced than the ones that Hamas had.
The group, which has an estimated 20,000 terrorist fighters, is much better equipped and trained than other terror groups and resembles more of a paramilitary force.
Hezbollah’s primary goal is the elimination of Israel and the targeting of the United States all over the world as it has operations in Africa, the Americas, and Asia.
The group is a major player in international drug trafficking, firearms trafficking, and money laundering.
