President Biden Blames Congress For Border Crisis, Elon Musk Calls Foul

Billionaire Elon Musk rebuked President Joe Biden on Friday after the president blamed Congress for the worsening border crisis.

“Congress needs to finally provide the funding I requested in October to secure the border,” Biden said in a statement on Friday, following backlash. “This includes an additional 1,300 border patrol agents, 375 immigration judges, 1,600 asylum officers, and over 100 cutting-edge inspection machines to help detect and stop fentanyl at our southwest border.”

“For everyone who is demanding tougher border control, this is the way to do it,” he captioned his statement. “If you’re serious about the border crisis, pass a bipartisan bill and I will sign it.”

“No laws need to be passed,” Musk responded. “All that is needed is an executive order to require proof before granting an asylum hearing. That is how it used to be.”

Musk went on to suggest that even a border wall is not necessary for Biden to act.

“Building a wall is a red herring. No wall is needed to fix this situation,” he wrote. “Border Patrol is being instructed to facilitate illegal entry at scale into the United States. The fundamental problem is that anyone can claim asylum with zero proof, which means all of Earth can come to America.”

Responding to a post that said, “Biden’s policy is open borders. Everything else is noise,” Musk reacted, “That is undeniable at this point.”

Earlier this week, Daily Wire Emeritus Ben Shapiro also said the border crisis could be fixed by Biden, who Shapiro said is “abandoning his constitutional duties and abdicating the presidency of the United States.”

“I’ve been down to the border. It is, indeed, wide open, and that facilitates the incentivization of drug cartels to pour millions of people into the United States and move tons of fentanyl across the southern border, the cause of over 100,000 American deaths a year,” he wrote. “This is Biden abandoning his constitutional duties and abdicating the presidency of the United States. It is evil for the president of the United States to do such. The equivalent would be if a mayor of a large city simply announced they are not going to police crime anymore. The fundamental duty of the federal government is to protect the people and the borders of the United States of America.”

“It is a federally mandated duty for the government of the United States to do that. It is a federal issue — not a state issue. Biden has not only signally failed, but he has also done the opposite of good. He has facilitated all of this — with terrible border policy. It is wrong. It should be against the law. The federal government has one job and one job only in the end: to protect you, to protect your rights,” Shapiro added.
