Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian threatened U.S. forces during a speech at the United Nations this week, warning that if the U.S. supports Israel’s efforts in rooting out the terrorists who murdered more than 1,400 Israelis earlier this month, the U.S. will be attacked.
Amir-Abdollahian claimed in a message to U.S. lawmakers that Iran does “not welcome the expansion of the war in the region,” even though Iran was heavily involved in organizing the terrorist attack and recent attacks on U.S. forces throughout the region.
He claimed that if Israel’s military action against terrorists from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad continued inside Gaza, the U.S. “will not be spared from this fire.”
“It is our home and West Asia is our region,” he said. “We do not compromise with any party and any side and have no reservations when it comes to our home’s security.”
Amir-Abdollahian then legitimized the Hamas terrorists, claiming that they were “fighting the occupation” and claiming that they had “a legitimate right” to do so. At no time did he condemn Hamas for murdering women, children, and the elderly.
He said that if Israel wants its civilians back who are being held hostage, it should release thousands of Palestinian criminals and terrorists who have been convicted in Israel’s justice system and are currently locked up in prisons.

In a subsequent interview with NPR in New York City, Amir-Abdollahian said that he recently met with “leaders of the resistance in Lebanon and also Palestinian groups” and claimed that they have terrorist attacks planned that are “more powerful and deeper than what you’ve witnessed.”
He said that every option will be on the table if Israel does not stop bombing Hamas targets inside of Gaza and falsely claimed that Iran only gives Hamas “political” support.
“Two weeks ago I visited the region and I met with some leaders of the countries of my region and with the leaders of the resistance in Lebanon and also the Palestinian groups,” he said. “What I gathered from the plans that they have – they have their finger on the trigger. You know, much more powerful and deeper than what you’ve witnessed.”
