An illegal alien considered to be “extremely dangerous” escaped a Pennsylvania prison Thursday morning, and now authorities are searching far and wide for the convicted murderer.
Danelo Cavalcante, a Brazillian national, escaped Chester County Prison at roughly 8:30 a.m. ET, CNN reported. Cavalcante was convicted on August 16 for killing his ex-girlfriend in 2021. He was sentenced to life in prison on August 22. Now, U.S. Marshalls are offering a reward of up to $5,000.
“Chester County Detectives and the Pennsylvania State Police are conducting a thorough county-wide search,” the DA’s office in a news release.
Two years ago, Cavalcante stabbed his ex-girlfriend in front of her two children in Pennsylvania. He then fled the state and was arrested in Virginia. At the time, Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed to Breitbart News that Cavalcante entered the U.S. illegally.
“This is a heartbreaking tragedy. Two children are left without a mother. The pain these children and all of Deborah’s loved ones are enduring as a result of this depravity is horrific,” Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said after the murder. “We will ensure that the defendant is brought to justice for this cold-blooded, premeditated, and despicable act.”
Cavalcante is also wanted in Brazil for murder. It is unclear when he first entered the country.
