‘Arrested By A Radical Left District Attorney’: Trump To Turn Himself In On Thursday In Georgia

On Monday evening, former President Donald Trump announced via Truth Social that he will turn himself in to authorities in Georgia on Thursday, August 24, after being indicted by a Fulton County grand jury on racketeering charges related to his alleged attempts to overturn the state’s 2020 election results.

The message reads in part, “Can you believe it? I’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis, who is overseeing one of the greatest Murder and Violent Crime DISASTERS in American History.”

Earlier in the day on Monday, Trump agreed to a $200,000 bond and other release conditions after his legal team met with the Fulton County District Attorney’s office.

Trump consented to the bond order that includes 13 counts of charges including criminal conspiracy and solicitation, making false statements, and violation of Georgia’s version of the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.

The GOP 2024 frontrunner also mocked the judge for setting his bond so high.

“The failed District Attorney of Fulton County (Atlanta), Fani Willis, insisted on a $200,000 Bond from me. I assume, therefore, that she thought I was a ‘flight risk’- I’d fly far away, maybe to Russia, Russia, Russia, share a gold domed suite with Vladimir, never to be seen or heard from again. Would I be able to take my very ‘understated’ airplane with the gold TRUMP affixed for all to see. Probably not, I’d be much better off flying commercial – I’m sure nobody would recognize me!”

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis launched a 41-count indictment against Trump and 18 co-conspirators last week, accusing the defendants of attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election results. The indictment marks the fourth against the former president seeking a second term in 2024.
