Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg was photographed with two UFC champions in what appeared to be a training session in Lake Tahoe, California.
Zuckerberg has famously agreed to a fight with Twitter CEO Elon Musk, which is rumored to take place in a UFC octagon, according to UFC President Dana White.
The Facebook creator was pictured with UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski from Australia and UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya from New Zealand, in a dual post with the Kiwi's Instagram page.
"No fugazi with Mark 🦈 This is Serious Business‼️" Adesanya wrote.
Both fighters were in Las Vegas, Nevada, for UFC 290 just days before the photo was posted, where Volkanovski defended his title with a third-round TKO.
Adesanya, however, took center stage at the event in a dispute with a South African fighter as the two argued about who was the real African.
Zuckerberg has famously won a gold medal and a silver medal in jiu jitsu tournaments in Silicon Valley in May 2023. Musk's training appears to be less formal, but he is on record telling comedian Joe Rogan in 2020 that he has experience in taekwondo, karate, and judo.
Musk is also training with UFC veterans as well. On June 27, 2023, Musk replied to UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre, accepting an offer to train with the former champion.
"Elon Musk I'm a huge fan of yours and it would be an absolute honor to help you and be your training partner for the challenge against Zuckerberg," St-Pierre wrote.
"Ok, let’s do it," Musk replied.
On July 3, 2023 St-Pierre posted a photo with Musk, saying that he had a "great training session."
Musk has increased his instigation efforts online since Zuckerberg announced a rival platform to Twitter, an app called Threads. Twitter reportedly threatened to sue Zuckerberg's Meta and alleged that Meta hired "dozens" of Twitter employees to launch a copycat application.
On a Twitter post that claimed Zuckerberg's platform protects "brand speech," as opposed to Musk, who "protects free speech," Musk replied with comedic insults toward the Meta chief.
"Zuck is a cuck," Musk wrote in response. The billionaire then said that he "propose[s] a literal dick measuring contest."
Zuckerberg has since replied to posts on Threads with "concerning," which is reported to be a mockery of how Musk responds to comments.
