Lindsey Graham Pleads With Crowd To Stop Booing Him At Trump Rally: ‘Just Calm Down For A Second’

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) was booed the moment that he walked on stage at a rally for former President Donald Trump on Saturday until the moment that he walked off several minutes later.

After taking the stage in Pickens, South Carolina, Graham took nearly a minute before he started speaking as he sought to wait out the booing and jeers.

“Just calm down for a second,” Graham said after the booing continued.

Associated Press reporter Meg Kinnard tweeted, “Nonstop boos for 4+ minutes now for @LindseyGrahamSC, one of Trump’s top Senate allies who won his 2020 reelect by 10+ points – but isn’t as popular in this very conservative part of SC as some other areas.”

“Let me tell you how you win an election, folks,” Graham told the crowd. “You get people together that don’t agree all of the time to agree on the most important things.”

“My hope is we can bring this party together ’cause he’s gonna be our nominee,” he continued. “He will be the nominee of the Republican Party, and let me tell you what’s at stake. If they win in 2024, they’re gonna pack the Supreme Court. So we need to get off our butts and make sure Donald Trump wins. If they win in 2024 … Puerto Rico and D.C. will be states. Four Democrats for the rest of our lifetime. They’ll abolish the electoral college, they will turn this nation upside down.”

“There’s one person running for president as a Republican that has the ability to change this country. It is Donald J. Trump. He did it once, he can do it again,” he added. “I’m gonna help him all over this country, and folks, I am from South Carolina. He is gonna win South Carolina. This is the pathway to the presidency. God bless you all. God bless President Trump. God bless America.”

Mediaite reported that Graham was booed later when Trump pointed at him on stage and that the crowd laughed when Trump made fun of him.
