Border Patrol Busts Illegal Immigrant Smugglers In Fake FedEx Vans

Border Patrol agents and members of the Texas Department of Public Safety caught illegal immigrants attempting to cross the southern border in fake FedEx vans.

Officers apprehended the smugglers in the El Paso Border Patrol sector in West Texas.

A tweet from El Paso Border Patrol Sector Chief Anthony Good explained that an anti-smuggling unit and members of the Texas Department of Public Safety “intercepted a smuggling scheme involving 26 smuggled migrants. Of the 3 vehicles involved, 2 were cloned FedEx vans. The smugglers will face charges!”

Illegal border crossings have surged under the Biden administration, with an estimated 1.5 million illegal immigrant gotaways being recorded since Biden took office in 2021. Meanwhile, there were 415,000 total reported gotaways for 2018, 2019, and 2020 under the Trump administration.

There’s also been a 1,000% increase in illegal immigration from a number of different countries, including China, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, and the Dominican Republic, among other countries.

Meanwhile, the Biden administration recently announced that they would increase the number of foreign nationals who’d be able to enter the United States through the CBP One app, a digital platform that allows asylum seekers to schedule appointments with border patrol before arriving at the southern border.

While roughly 80,000 foreign nationals entered the United States by way of the CBP One app between January and the end of April, the increase will allow nearly 40,000 migrants to enter the U.S. per month through the platform.

The figure does not, however, include a different parole program specifically for those from Haiti, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba.

Major cities like Chicago and New York have both struggled to manage the influx. While the Chicago City Council recently passing a measure to provide $51 million in funding to house and feed migrants, 50 places of worship in New York City are now being used to house foreign nationals who’ve crossed the border into the United States.

One poll from CBS News poll suggests that most Americans are unsatisfied with the state of the southern border under the Biden administration. It found that 63% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the United States border, while just 37% say they approve.
