The Texas lawyer who pulled a gun on his ex-girlfriend while she was bartending was found dead Wednesday, according to reports.
Gavin Rush, 41, who was let out on bond after pulling a gun on his ex, was found dead Wednesday around 4:25 p.m., by police who were conducting a welfare check, Fox News reported, citing the Austin Police Department. It is unclear how Rush died.
“The death is not considered suspicious and investigation is still ongoing,” the department reportedly said.
Rush showed up to the Anderson Mill Pub on Saturday around 11:37 a.m., and approached the bar where his ex-girlfriend was working. Surveillance footage showed Rush placing a leather satchel on the bar counter before he reportedly asked his ex-girlfriend to talk to him. When the victim refused, Rush was seen whopping out a pistol and pointing it at her chest.
Customers immediately sprung into action and tackled Rush to the ground and held him down until officers arrived on scene.
One customer alleged Rush tried to shoot himself in the head but the customer stuck his finger between the trigger and guard to prevent the gun from firing, according to KVUE.
Rush was charged with second-degree felony, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was let out on a $40,000 bond, KVUE reported.
