An English broadcaster known as Great Britain’s first transgender national television newsreader urged followers to sue famed “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling for ripping a transgender children’s charity. Rowling issued a warning shot of her own, daring anyone to take such action.
Rowling had prompted the threat from India Willoughby by commenting on a board of trustees member who resigned had previously spoken at an “academic” conference in 2011 promoting support for pedophiles.
“Someone really needs to take legal action against JK Rowling,” Willoughby wrote on Tuesday. “This is off the scale. The GC tactic seems to be to drown the trans charity Mermaids in a tsunami of innuendo and lies – throw a stack of mud, some of it will stick.”
“India, I swear to God, if you want to start a petition for Mermaids to take me on in court, the first signature will be mine,” Rowling fired back.
On Wednesday, referring to Dr. Jacob Breslow, who had spoken at a B4U-ACT conference in 2011 promoting support for pedophiles, Rowling had tweeted, “We’ve now learned that Mermaids appointed a paedophilia apologist as Trustee and that their online moderator encouraged kids to move onto a platform notorious for sexual exploitation. This is a charity that’s achieved unprecedented influence in the UK.”
“They couldn’t have achieved it without the money and public support of certain corporations and celebrities, who eagerly boosted them even though the red flags have been there for years. Mermaids’ fingers were all over the Tavistock Gender Identity Clinic debacle,” she continued.
“They’ve been allowed into classrooms, trained police and had unprecedented influence over health policy, even though by their own admission they aren’t a medical charity. We’ve also found out they’re sending devices to flatten breasts to underage girls w/o parental consent,” she charged.
“So I don’t doubt that there are some panicky phone calls being placed to PR people by certain corporations and celebrities right now, but as they remain completely insulated from the severe harm they’ve enabled, my sympathy can be measured in gnats’ thimbles,” she concluded.
On Wednesday morning, Rowling slammed apologists for the charity, writing, “I note the genderists are now arguing that it doesn’t matter that a paedophilia apologist was a trustee of a trans children’s charity, because he was ‘only one.’ You know, I thought things were pretty bad when you were arguing to put convicted rapists in women’s jails.”
“When you shrugged off masked men roughing up lesbian protestors and tried to shout down detransitioners talking about what was done to them by ideologically-captured doctors,” she continued. “Women, gay people and vulnerable kids have suffered real harm and you? You cheered it all on.” “
You still prefer willful blindness and four word mantras to considering you might have got this badly wrong. You became part of an authoritarian, misogynist, homophobic movement and you didn’t even notice. Enjoy the sense of your own righteousness while you can. It won’t last,” she added.
