Facebook Employees Mock Zuckerberg’s Pet “Metaverse” Project — Price Tag Balloons Into The Billions

Problems are arising at Facebook over Mark Zuckerberg’s “Metaverse” project.

Facebook has spent billions on the Metaverse — and has thousands of employees trying to make it a reality.

A new report says that Facebook employees are mocking Zuckerberg over the project.

The New York Times reported:

Some Meta employees have complained about frequent strategy shifts that seem tied to Mr. Zuckerberg’s whims rather than a cohesive plan.

And Meta executives have butted heads over the company’s metaverse strategy, with one senior leader complaining that the amount of money the company had spent on unproven projects made him “sick to my stomach.”

The company’s struggle to reshape the business was described in interviews with more than a dozen current and former Meta employees and internal communications obtained by The New York Times. The people spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak about internal matters.

Two employees said that staffers joke that the metaverse projects are just to “make Mark happy.”

Breitbart reported:

Employees of Facebook (now known as Meta) mockingly refer to some of the company’s metaverse projects as “make Mark happy” — referring to CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his shifting priorities.

Facebook employees are complaining about high turnover and the frequent moving around of employees as Zuckerberg shifts his priorities, according to a report by the New York Times.

The report added that two employees said staff jokingly refers to key metaverse projects as M.M.H., which stands for “make Mark happy.”

Facebook’s stock has dropped almost 60% over the past year.

How long will investors put up with Zuckerberg’s fantasies?
