Saturday Night Live is finally starting to cross over into mocking their beloved Joe Biden, opening this week’s episode with a skit roasting his meeting with TikTok stars over the conflict in Ukraine.
The skit also poked fun at d-list celebrity Annalynne McCord, calling her “actress from the CW,” over a poem she posted recently daydreaming about being Russian President Vladimir Putin’s mother.
“This week, as the war in Ukraine intensified, access to Facebook and Instagram across the country was shut off, leaving only one source of information: TikTok,” a narrator says at the beginning of the skit.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki’s character says at the beginning that she suggested the meeting as a joke, but that it really happened.
“People are saying this is the first war fought on TikTok, which is tough for me because I’m the landline of presidents,” a Joe Biden character tells the group.
“I understand [Russian President Vladimir] Putin. I understand war,” Biden adds. “But there’s one thing I don’t understand: computer.”
“He means technology, but he says computer,” Kate McKinnon’s Psaki says.
“Actress from the CW,” says, “While Putin might have tanks and bombs, there’s something even more powerful we can attack him with: poems.”
The skit continues to introduce other people at the meeting, before McKinnon’s Psaki says “it was clearly a bad idea.”
