This morning, Russian troops launched a full-scale predawn attack that began in the capital city of Kyiv.
Yahoo News reports – Ukraine’s foreign ministry said Russia’s intent was to destroy the state of Ukraine, a Westward-looking democracy intent on moving out of Moscow’s orbit. At least 40 people had been killed so far in what it called a “full-scale war” targeting the country from the east, north, and south.
Ukraine’s leaders are now mobilizing some 36,000 reservists as it braces for a full invasion. Ukraine’s National Guard and border-control service are activating an additional 10,000 reserve members.
Ukraine President Zelensky took to Twitter to warn of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, comparing Putin’s attack to the start of WWII by Nazi Germany. Zelensky pledged to defend the freedom of his nation.
Russia treacherously attacked our state in the morning, as Nazi Germany did in #2WW years. As of today, our countries are on different sides of world history. 🇷🇺 has embarked on a path of evil, but 🇺🇦 is defending itself & won’t give up its freedom no matter what Moscow thinks.

Former US Ambassador to Russia under President Obama, Michael McFaul, spoke with MSNBC this morning where he also compared Putin’s unprovoked attack of Ukraine to Hitler’s unprovoked war, saying: “it reminds me of September 1st, 1939 when Hitler invaded Poland.”
