SICK! NBC News Joins Democrat Firing Squad, Including an MSNBC Host, To Criticize Gov Ron DeSantis For Being “Absent” While He Was Accompanying His Wife During Cancer Treatment

 This week, Democrats took to social media to mercilessly mock Governor Ron DeSantis over his “absence” from the public eye. A former senior executive of Universal Studio played “gotcha” with photos posted to DeSantis’ Twitter account. NBC News joined Democrats with a vile hit piece on Florida’s popular Republican governor. At the top of their article, NBC News had this to say about Ron DeSantis’ absence:

DeSantis, an opponent of masking and vaccine mandates, has not held a Covid briefing since Dec. 17 as cases have reached record highs.

As is typical of the dishonest mainstream media, the NBC News article on Gov. Ron DeSantis was very unbalanced. It included one statement from DeSantis’ press secretary explaining that he’s spending time with his family:

DeSantis’ office did not immediately respond to requests for comment. His press secretary, Christina Pushaw, tweeted Thursday that the governor has “a wife and 3 kids ages 1-5, and it’s not surprising if he wants to take a few days off at Christmas to spend time with his family, especially as his wife is battling cancer. I don’t criticize (President Joe) Biden for going to Rehoboth Beach all week, right?”

Pushaw pointed out some of his daily schedule from Tuesday, which showed he had had meetings scheduled at the Florida Capitol with state officials.

However, the bulk of the article was peppered with statements from Democrats mocking DeSantis.

In a press conference Tuesday, Mayor Jerry Demings of Orange County, a Democrat, called on the governor to step up his response efforts because the omicron surge has resulted in people waiting in line as long as five hours to get tested.

“We have not received any assistance from the state of Florida at our testing sites,” Demings said. “Local governments have been left to figure it out and respond on our own. We are doing our best.”

“Our residents, all Florida residents, should be outraged, and they should ask the question, now, where’s our state? Where’s our governor? Where is Ron DeSantis now? When was the last time you saw the governor do a press briefing regarding Covid-19?” Demings asked.

The state’s [Democrat] agriculture commissioner, Nikki Fried, said Wednesday that she had “no idea” where DeSantis was.

Fried, who’s running for governor as a Democrat, told MSNBC that DeSantis “cancelled our Cabinet meeting in the middle of December” and “I haven’t seen him since Dec. 17. I don’t know where he is.”

“Local counties and state commissioners are having to stand up testing sites,” she said. “We have five-hour lines in Miami-Dade county, and he’s nowhere to be found.”

Florida’s Agriculture Commissioner and Democrat candidate for governor, Nikki Fried, who prides herself on being the only statewide elected Democrat since 2012, tweeted a video of herself bragging about getting a booster shot. Above her video, she wrote a vile statement about Governor DeSantis’ absence from his office. 

“As COVID surges in Florida again, our governor is absent. So here I am doing his job and mine with an update,” the Democratic candidate for governor in Florida tweeted

Retired Sr. Executive at Universal Studio Mike Sington attempted to play “gotcha” with a December 28 tweet from Gov. Ron DeSantis’s account promoting a local Florida business. Sington, like NBC News, tried to accuse the governor of attempting to deceive Florida residents for posting a photo that was taken a couple of weeks ago.

 

Yesterday, photos of a maskless Socialist-Dem Rep. AOC (NY) surfaced, showing her enjoying lunch with her fiance in Florida. At the same time, her state adopts communist-style COVID rules on citizens and visitors. A tweet from an account tied to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ team sent a “Welcome to Florida, AOC!” message, telling her they hope she “enjoying a taste of freedom here in the Sunshine State thanks to Ron DeSantis’ leadership.”

AOC responded to the Team DeSantis welcome message by mocking him for his reported absence. 

“Hasn’t Gov. DeSantis been inexplicably missing for like 2 weeks? If he’s around, I would be happy to say hello. His social media team seems to have been posting old photos for weeks. In the meantime, perhaps I could help with local organizing. Folks are quite receptive here :).”

The tweets by AOC, NBC News, and other leftists didn’t age well, as yesterday, it was revealed that Governor Ron DeSantis has been spending time with his beautiful wife Casey as she received cancer treatments.

Governor Ron DeSantis’ press secretary came to his defense after MNSBC’s Joy Reid called Ron DeSantis’ time away from the public eye a “vacation.”

Ms. Pushaw also reminded the hate-filled Reid and her friends on the left that spending time with a loved one who is going through cancer treatments is “not always ‘vacation.'”

 

Even after his time away from the public eye was explained, the haters on the left just couldn’t help themselves as they continued to attack him.

This “blue check” Democrat with almost 65K followers on Twitter accused DeSantis’ office of lying, “Spin, spin spin,” she wrote, adding, “While I feel for his wife, cancer treatments take a few hours.”  The heartless Democrat continued to embarrass herself, “He is the governor of a state in crisis. If he can’t govern and be there for his wife, he should resign.”

It’s almost like Democrats and their allies in the media forgot that Joe Biden left for vacation almost immediately after admitting there was nothing the federal government can to do address the outbreak of COVID raging across America.
