On Tuesday, an interview was published with French President Emmanuel Macron in which he said he wants to “piss off” unvaccinated people and deny them the ability to participate in most features of public life.
Macron’s interview was with Le Parisien, a French newspaper. In this piece, he specified that beginning January 15, he wants to prevent the unvaxxed from being able to get coffee, go to the theater, and participate in normal social activities in general. “I really want to piss them off,” Macron said, referring to the unvaccinated population. “And so we will continue to do so, to the bitter end. That’s the strategy.”

When talking about those who are not vaccinated, he described them as irresponsible individuals who threaten the freedoms of others. This was his justification for why he thinks it’s okay to take away the freedom of the unvaxxed. “Someone irresponsible is not a citizen,” said Macron.
French President Emmanuel Macron just called France's 5 million unvaccinated citizens "non-citizens" and stated "I really want to piss them off. And so we will continue to do so to the bitter end. That's the strategy."
Governments are getting bolder every day with this rhetoric.

Last year, France implemented a health pass that can be obtained by someone who is vaccinated or has a recently tested negative for COVID. Now, Macron is working towards a health pass that is only available for those who are vaxxed.
Macron’s political opponents were quick to comment on his controversial statements, one leader saying that “no health emergency justifies such words”, and another leader labeling Macron’s vaccine pass a “collective punishment against individual liberties”.
