Biden Effect: GOP Holds 10 Point Lead Over Dems In Congressional Preference–First Time In History!

A new survey from CNBC found Republicans with a 10-point advantage in Congressional preference.

Which party would you prefer to control Congress:

44% – Republicans

34% – Democrats

This is the first time in at least 20 years Republicans have held a lead this big.

The largest previous lead was 4 points.

CNBC reported:

As bad as Biden’s number may be, the polling data for Democrats in Congress is far worse.

Republicans now sport a historic 10-point advantage when Americans are asked which party they prefer to control Congress, holding a 44%-34% margin over Democrats. That’s up from a 2-point Republican advantage in the October survey.

In the past 20 years, CNBC and NBC surveys have never registered a double-digit Republican advantage on congressional preference, with the largest lead ever being 4 pints for the GOP.

Jay Campbell, the Democrat pollster for the survey, warned that if the election was held today it would be “an absolute unmitigated disaster for the Democrats.”

“If the election were tomorrow, it would be an absolute unmitigated disaster for the Democrats,″ said Jay Campbell, partner at Hart Research Associates and the Democratic pollster for the survey.

Some Congressional Democrats have already begun retiring — knowing what is coming in 2022.

Oregon Democrat Rep. Peter DeFazio was the 19th to retire.

The Gateway Pundit reported:

The Democrats know they are in trouble going into the 2022 midterms so many are fleeing a sinking ship.

ANOTHER House Democrat is retiring from Congress.

Oregon Democrat Rep. Peter DeFazio, the House Transportation Chair, is retiring, according to sources who spoke to Punch Bowl News reporter Jake Sherman.

Rep. DeFazio, 74, is the 19th Democrat planning to retire next year.
