Utah Senator and hard core RINO Mitt Romney said Tuesday on the “Utah Politics” podcast that it is hypocritical for Republicans to criticize Democrats for their massive spending plans after spending massively during the Trump presidency.
“There’s no question that if you begin doing things which break precedent or break tradition, the other side is going to do that when they’re in charge,” Romney said. “This was before my time in the Senate, but when we’ve put a tax program on that basis that did not require any Democrat votes through reconciliation, we have a difficult time explaining why we’re not happy with what they would be doing at this stage.”
“There’s no question about that,” Romney added. “Same question with regards to our debt. I mean, during the time when the economy was booming and when we had a Republican president and House and Senate, we kept on spending massively, more than we were taking in, almost a trillion dollars a year in deficit spending every year, adding to the national debt almost a trillion a year.”
“So now we say, ‘This is outrageous, you’re adding to the debt.’ They say, ‘Hey, where were you when you were in charge? You did the same thing.’ So, yeah, it does show you that you have to be somewhat consistent where your arguments with the other side acts out of a character that you think is inappropriate, when you don’t have much grounding for your argument.”
Utah Senator Mitt Romney is a pathetic little man who might as well switch parties and openly declare himself a Democrat.
It’s not like he would vote or act any differently than he does now if was a member of the Democrat party.
