A Texas father-of-five was shot dead on Friday after he confronted the parents of a teenage boy who had been cyberbullying his 15-year-old daughter on social media, according to his heartbroken family.
Brandon Curtis, 35, was shot multiple times in the 10900 block of Spring Brook Pass of the Humble area, according to a statement from the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities said Curtis, who worked as a commercial truck driver, was found shot in the street and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
His wife, Shantal Harris, said that her husband had gone over to the boy's home because their daughter had been bullied by the same teen for the last nine months.
She claims the bully would send her daughter messages saying 'I'm gonna beat you up' and 'ho I'm gonna get you', and also posts ridiculing her parents.
She says that Curtis went to the boy's house to speak with the alleged bully's parents to try and resolve the situation.

However, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the fatal shooting occurred when he allegedly took his daughter over to the boy's home to fight other teens.
'I don't feel like it's right to let that come out like that. I'm angry. I'm angry about it,' Harris told ABC 13. 'I know my husband. My husband is not like that.'
Curtis' sister, Jeran Perkins, also disputed the claim, saying: 'My brother would never put a hand on a child. We want justice.'
Harris said she and her husband spoke with the boy's father about the bullying, and on Friday Curtis, her daughter and son went to speak to the family again.
'When he left from here, my husband went to go resolve the issue. He wanted to go speak to the parent,' Harris told the news station.

According to authorities, a 20-year-old man told them Curtis hit his teen brother outside their home.
That's when the man went to get a gun to protect his brother and shot Curtis, authorities said.
After the shooting, Harris said her daughter received another message that read: 'We all had a fight and killed dey (sic) daddy.'
'For them to claim self- defense, it's sickening,' Harris, said.
