Trump Blasts Federal Reserve and Jerome Powell for Reacting too Slowly over Coronavirus Market Scare
President Trump SLAMMED the Federal Reserve for their silence and invisibility during this horrid week in the markets — worse than Jerome Powell’s market crash in December 2018.
President Trump: Our Fed should start being a leader and not a follower. Our Fed has been a follower. We need a Fed that’s going to be a leader. We should have at least the same rates and ideally lower rates than other countries.
Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell, waited until Friday, after the markets plunged more than 3,000 points to say anything. Economist Peter Morici slammed Powell this morning saying former Fed chiefs would have been much more proactive.
