In a stunning move, the Des Moines Register newspaper, along with their partners CNN and Selzer & Co., have decided to NOT release the results of the last poll before Monday’s democratic caucuses.
Could they be afraid of their results?
The Des Moines Register, CNN and Selzer & Co. have made the decision to not release the final installment of the CNN/Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll as planned this evening.Nothing is more important to the Register and its polling partners than the integrity of the Iowa Poll. Today, a respondent raised an issue with the way the survey was administered, which could have compromised the results of the poll. It appears a candidate’s name was omitted in at least one interview in which the respondent was asked to name their preferred candidate. While this appears to be isolated to one surveyor, we cannot confirm that with certainty. Therefore, the partners made the difficult decision to not to move forward with releasing the Iowa Poll. The Register has published the Iowa Poll for 76 years, and it is considered the gold standard in political polling. Selzer & Co., which conducts the poll, is recognized for its excellence in polling. It is imperative whenever an Iowa Poll is released that there is confidence that the data accurately reflects Iowans’ opinions.
There’s just one problem with her alibi; If the omitted candidate is the one whom a respondent supports, then wouldn’t the respondent just say that candidate’s name to the pollsters?
UPDATE — According to The War Room on Sunday morning Pete Buttigieg’s campaign complained because his supporters complained that his name was omitted by at least one polster.
Cue the Bern-outs, who have recently figured out that CNN is trying to rig the election against their communist. They think this an attempt to suppress Bernie leading the polls.
Bill Maher was not wrong. Rig this against #BernieSanders2020 and we WILL take to the streets. #BernieBeatsTrump #BernieOrBust— Just another Bernie Bro (@MyTraceElements) February 2, 2020
Maybe I've been drinking too much delicious fluoridated tap water, but "The Des Moines Register, in cahoots with CNN, is throwing away its reputation because they don't want Bernie to win" is some galaxy brain, InfoWars nonsense. I can't believe people are going down this path.— Ben Collins (@oneunderscore__) February 2, 2020
The truth about the Des Moines Register poll. Bernie Sanders is up, and up YUGGEEE. We had the biggest rally of any presidential candidate today. We knocked on 500,000 doors in IOWA. Our surge isn’t even at its peak, we are going to take Iowa by a LARGE margin. #IowaForBernie— Ja'Mal Green (@JaymalGreen) February 2, 2020
ATTENTION #Bernie2020 #NotMeUs campaign!!! They’re suppressing this important Poll to hide the fact that #Bernie2020 is leading all candidates by a huge margin. There will be shenanigans to steal the win from Bernie at the #IowaCaucus so BRING YOUR CAMERAS & DOCUMENT EVERYTHING— Jay Bird (@312shelly3) February 2, 2020
Then there’s this guy:
Just here for the Berners going full MAGA Q-Anon conspiracy theory because a pollster made a mistake.— keith 🏳️🌈🎹 (@theKeithiest) February 2, 2020
