Nunes Punches Back Over "False Hit Piece," Sues CNN for $435 Million in Damages

Rep. Devin Nunes punched back against CNN for a November 22 “demonstrably false hit piece” that claimed the California congressman traveled to Vienna to dig up dirt on former Vice-President Joe Biden in 2018, the Washington Times is reporting.
“Devin Nunes did not go to Vienna or anywhere else in Austria in 2018,” declared the law suit seeking $435 million in damages. He said he visited two countries: Libya and Malta on what is called a “codel.” or congressional delegation.
The CNN story said Mr. Nunes supposedly met with former Ukraine chief prosecutor Vicktor Shokin.

The CNN story said Mr. Nunes supposedly met with former Ukraine chief prosecutor Vicktor Shokin.
“Devin Nunes has never met Viktor Shokin,” says the complaint lodged in U.S. District Court in Richmond. “This meeting never took place. Viktor Shokin doesn’t know and hasn’t even heard of Devin Nunes.”
CNN also reported that Mr. Nunes began communicating with Lev Parnas around the time. He is a Soviet-born U.S. citizen and Florida businessman who became a source for Rudy Giuliani, President Trump’s personal attorney. Mr. Giuliani was investigating Ukraine’s involvement in the 2016 election
“Devin Nunes did not communicate with Parnas in December 2018,” the suit states.
According to the Washington Times the lawsuit also said “CNN is the mother of fake news.” and that “CNN is eroding the fabric of America, proselytizing, sowing distrust and disharmony. It must be held accountable.”
It’s about time that Republicans punched back against the lies so often told by the mainstream media.
We agree 100% with the idea that CNN is the mother of all fake news. The worst thing is they get away with it.
In the conservative media we are relentlessly fact-checked and called out when wrong. This is not necessarily a bad thing.
What’s bad is how one sided the whole process is.
The folks at CNN or MSNBC can say whatever they want and there is zero repercussion when they are wrong.
The fact-checkers do not fact-check CNN, MSNBC, Vox Media or any of the anti-Trump mainstream media players.
Good for Rep. Devin Nunes for punching back. We hope he wins a nice settlement.
But even more importantly we hope that CNN and others in the left media learn a hard lesson that causes them to change their often lying ways.
