A teen reportedly wanted to shoot '400 people for fun' at her old school. Then police discovered an AK-47 at her home.

Authorities arrested Alexis Wilson, 18, after she reportedly voiced interest in carrying out a mass killing at her former high school. She was charged Monday with a felony for making a terroristic threat against the school.

 

Law enforcement also uncovered an AK-47, six magazines, and a 12-gauge shotgun in her bedroom after executing a search on the home.

Wilson, an employee at Pizza Inn in McAlester, Oklahoma, told a co-worker on Sunday that she purchased a brand-new weapon: an AK-47.

Wilson boasted about the weapon and allegedly told the co-worker how much she resented her former high school peers at McAlester High School. Wilson reportedly added that she wanted to "shoot 400 people for fun."

The unidentified co-worker reported the exchange to their boss, who called local police.

Pittsburg County Sheriff Chris Morris told KTUL-TV that the department takes threats seriously.

"In today's times, you can't say stuff like that," he said. "We're going to take it serious and investigate it to the fullest extent and make an arrest if possible, because we do not want any of our schools getting shot up. Nobody does.

"A female can pull the trigger just as easily as a male," Morris added. "It's rare, it's different. I don't know that there's been a female accused of this."

Wilson has pleaded not guilty and is being held on a $250,000 bond. 

A troubled past

Wilson, who reportedly behaved erratically during questioning, has a history of concerning behavior.

While in high school, Wilson was suspended for bringing a knife to school and then again after reportedly displaying Nazi swastikas on her personal belongings.

During her sophomore year of high school, Wilson attended Camp Thunderbird, a military academy, after exhibiting troublesome behaviors. KTUL reported that Wilson has been unable to complete her education as of yet. After completing the Thunderbird program, Wilson reportedly attempted to enroll back into McAlester High School, but was rejected. She reportedly attempted wanted to take night courses to obtain her GED, but the school did not offer night classes, according to the station. She is unable to take day classes due to her work schedule.

Wilson also reportedly told officers that she was "suicidal and borderline homicidal" because of previous peer bullying.

Wilson's mother, Sonya Smith, said that she didn't think anything about her daughter possessing weapons because her daughter is a longtime hunter and marksman.
