Married high school principal is allowed to KEEP her job after a sheriff's deputy admitted he had sex with her on the campus while on duty and she lied about their affair to senior administrators

A high school principal who allegedly had sex with an on-duty sheriff’s deputy on campus grounds will be allowed to keep her job, it has been reported.
Amanda O’Nan, the principal of Hilton Head Island High School on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, was reprimanded by administrators on Tuesday.
Since January, O’Nan has been under investigation by Beaufort County School District and the South Carolina Department of Education.
She has consistently denied having sex with DeJuan Holmes, a former sheriff’s deputy, on school grounds.
But O’Nan did acknowledge that she had put ‘herself in a sensitive position by meeting an individual for reasons unrelated to school business on school grounds after hours’.
The investigation was prompted by an admission from former Beaufort County Sheriff’s Deputy Staff Sgt. Holmes, who told authorities that he and O’Nan were having an extramarital affair while he was on duty, according to The State.

Authorities learned of the affair in April 2016, when O’Nan’s then-husband, Chris O’Nan, filed a complaint with the sheriff’s office against Holmes, who was a deputy at the time.
Chris O’Nan alleged that the affair took place on school grounds, an accusation that Amanda O’Nan denied.
Holmes decided to resign in lieu of submitting to an internal affairs investigation.
Around the same time, the school district conducted its own investigation and ‘found no evidence’ of wrongdoing by the principal.

Last June, Holmes attempted to regain his job by submitting to an inquiry by the internal affairs department at the sheriff’s office.
Holmes told investigators that he and O’Nan had sex inside the high school while he was on duty.
The former deputy’s admission led to the re-opened investigation against O’Nan, and a public reprimand, which is the lowest level of discipline meted out by the state.
