Crowdsourcing platforms
Crowdsourcing websites are now a pretty common way that people get financial backing for everything from inventions to medical support. Indiegogo was one of the first crowdsourcing sites launched back in 2008, followed by Kickstarter (2009), GoFundMe (2010), and Patreon (2013). This type of platform has made it extremely easy for people to donate and show support.
