Trump ally Roger Stone films bizarre 'pep talk' for Joe Biden ahead of final presidential debate

Roger Stone appeared to break ranks with his longtime friend Donald Trump after Joe Biden's campaign used an online video service to pay him to film a bizarre pep talk for the Democrat before the final presidential debate.

Rob Flaherty, the digital director for the Biden campaign, shared Stone's video on Twitter on Thursday night, writing: 'Since you can pay Trump advisors to say anything you want them to on the internet, we asked Roger Stone [to] give a pep talk to ol' Joey ahead of tonight's debate.

Stone recorded the video via Cameo, a service that allows people to pay celebrities to send them personalized messages.

It is unknown whether Stone knew the message was intended for Biden, as he refers to the recipient as 'Joey' throughout.

In the 39-second video, Stone urges Biden to attack his critics - and offers a crude bathroom joke for him to use.

'So I understand, Joey, that there are a lot of people out talking s*** about you - the only way to combat that of course is to talk s*** about them,' Stone says.

'What I like to say is when I wipe my derriere after I defecate, what is left on the TP is more intelligent and has more integrity than say, Ari Melber of MSNBC.

'This is a stunning insult and I invite you to use it on anyone who deserves it.'

'Good luck to you Joey, [unintelligible] has your back,' he concluded.

In his tweet, Flaherty didn't offer any details about how much the Biden campaign may have paid Stone for the video, or whether he was aware of the recipient.

Stone has been one of Trump's most fervent supporters for years and served on his presidential campaign in the last election.

The conservative political consultant and lobbyist abruptly left the campaign in 2015 under murky circumstances - Trump said he fired Stone and Stone said he quit.

But Stone remained a prominent member of Trump's inner circle, serving as an informal adviser to the president.

The pair's relationship was thrust into the spotlight in November 2019, when Stone was indicted under Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into the Trump campaign's dealings with Russia.

Stone was sentenced to 14 months in federal prison, before Trump stepped in and commuted his sentence at the eleventh hour last July.

In a statement announcing the commutation, the White House charged that Stone was 'a victim of the Russia hoax that the left and its allies in media perpetuated for years in an attempt to undermine the Trump presidency', and said that he would be put 'at serious medical risk in prison'.

Three months later, Stone looked perfectly healthy as he recorded the Cameo video while dressed up in a sharp shirt and suspenders.

DailyMail.com has reached out to the Biden campaign for comment about the apparent prank.
